NBHSAF ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

The New Berlin High Schools Alumni Foundation announced the 2023 Vocational and Trades Scholarship recipient, Tyler Haskey. While the Foundation received numerous applications, Tyler’s stood out from the rest.

Tyler Haskey will be graduating from New Berlin West High School. He is currently enrolled in a work program with the Doral Rental Corporation in Milwaukee, WI, and works at the Pilgrim Park Middle School, Brookfield, WI. Mr. Haskey hopes to start his apprenticeship program with the Doral Corporation this fall.

Rob Keelan, Vice President of Doral Equipment Rental said of Mr. Haskey; “Tyler reached a level of competency that I have not seen with many adult employees. Tyler has garnered nothing but respect from his peers and view him as a supervisor right now”. Mr. Keelan went on to say; “Tyler wants to start an apprenticeship with our organization which is machine moving and rigging. The move to starting a career is the next logical step for him”.

In 2022 the Alumni from New Berlin West and New Berlin Eisenhower High Schools formed the New Berlin High Schools Alumni Foundation to provide a scholarship fund to graduating seniors that wish to attend a vocational or trade school or enter into an apprenticeship program. The scholarships are funded through charitable donations from companies, alumni, and individuals.
